About Astrid
Hello! My life experiences, career, research, academics, adventures, parenting journey, and personal growth inform how I approach working with others. What guides me is a deep care for people and the beautiful ways we can all heal and transform, and in turn, create a more meaningful and interconnected community.
For 20 years, I worked in the gallery and museum sector, serving as a curator, educator, and Executive Director. My focus in this work was always to ‘break down’ the walls of the museum space to create truly welcoming and inclusive spaces. These two decades of nonprofit work, alongside a Master’s of Art History, a Master’s of Education, influence the way I approach coaching. Within the museum and gallery sector, and so too in our societal structures, I seek to find wholeness, growth, and forward momentum to change habits, systems, limiting beliefs, and methodologies that no longer function.
Dance, sport, yoga, and mindfulness practices further inform who I am and what I do. Physical movement, whether through dance, sport, or somatic practices, clarifies the mind-body unity, and I bring these somatic practices into the coaching realm. With a certificate in Integrated Somatic Trauma Therapy, my coaching is trauma-informed, meaning I take the nervous system, neuroscience, and full body system into account — working not only with the mind, but with the full self.
I am also a parent, and I continually work to understand the challenges of parenting in our current society. Supporting parents as they navigate their children’s different phases and stages is a great passion of mine. I am not a perfect parent — there is no such thing — but I turn to the many great minds, teachers, and experts of our time who support parents and children, so that I may move forward with compassion, curiosity, and great care, and help others to do the same.
I am committed to ongoing anti-racism, anti-oppression, and trauma-informed learning and understand that this is lifelong work, not a completed credential. This ongoing learning helps inform Inhabit Wholeness.
